Jumpstart your career with Center Theatre Group. Your career in professional theatre is waiting for you.

Apply for a Center Theatre Group internship and develop essential workforce skills by studying and learning alongside professionals.  Work behind the scenes at CTG, one of the nation’s most vibrant non-profit theatres, with two stages in Downtown Los Angeles—the Ahmanson Theatre and the Mark Taper Forum—and one in Culver City, the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

Applications for all summer 2014 internships closed on May 15, 2014.  We do not have any open internship positions at the moment.

Fall 2014 Internships

All opportunities will be posted on this page on August 22, 2014.  We anticipate 12 open undergraduate positions and two open graduate-level positions in various departments.  You may not apply until this date.  Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page for additional details about the CTG Internship Program.

Application Materials & Process

All applications are due by the date listed in the internship description, although interns may be selected prior to that date; applicants are encouraged to submit materials earlyEvery applicant must submit an official CTG Internship Application (see below for link to the PDF), business resume, and a customized cover letter detailing why you are interested in this specific internship at Center Theatre Group.  Please include all three items as separate PDF attachments to your email.  Some internships require additional application materials; see the Internship Descriptions for details. 

You may apply for more than one position, but should submit separate cover letters for each.  If you submit your materials for multiple internships via USPS, the applications may be packaged in the same envelope.  You may sign the application electronically.   We will acknowledge receipt of all applications.  Do not submit multiple copies of the same application.

Click here to download a PDF of the Center Theatre Group Internship Application.  Every applicant must submit this document.  You will need to download Adobe Reader, a free program, to fill out the PDF.  Mac users: using the default Mac PDF viewer, Preview, corrupts the file and will result in a blank application.  Download Adobe Reader to avoid this issue.  We encourage all applicants to please close and re-open the Internship Application prior to submission to ensure the document is not submitted blank.  You can also request a hard-copy application by calling (213) 972-8031 or emailing cschenkkan@CenterTheatreGroup.org

Eligibility

Current undergraduate students and people who graduated from an undergraduate program within one semester of application date are eligible for undergraduate-level internships.  Current graduate students and people who graduated from a Masters program within one year of the application date are eligible for graduate-level internships.  Read each position’s description carefully to ensure your eligibility.  Please do not apply for a position for which you are not eligible.  Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page or contact Camille Schenkkan with any questions: 213.972.8031 or cschenkkan@CenterTheatreGroup.org.
