The Glass Menagerie
One of the greatest American plays finds new light in this critically-lauded re-imagining of the classic story of a fragile family hanging its hopes on the arrival of a “gentleman caller.”
From October 5 – 8th, Center Theatre Group's production of The Glass Menagerie played host to 2,409 students, teachers, administrators and parents from 42 schools and community organizations. Below are some photos from the performance and feedback we received from the students.
"I haven’t seen or heard the play before and now I can’t wait to see it again. After that show I immediately went to go look up more of Tennessee Williams’ plays and now want to go see A Streetcar Named Desire. Also, I think now that Tennessee is like an American Shakespeare. He appeals to the lower class, with comedy that strikes all. I laughed, and I even held my breath during the kiss."

"In the end, I was left speechless, and still cannot find the right words to describe my appreciation and adoration for the play. The emotions portrayed by the actors were so subtle but so incredibly powerful; I felt as though I was intruding on somebody’s home rather than watching a play."
– Allison, La Sierra High School
