In honor of the renovation and opening of the New Mark Taper Forum, this year’s Poster Competition will focus on the art and architecture of the theatre building and the role of the audience in the theatre experience. The theatre is a place of meeting and gathering, of communicating ideas both universal and deeply personal. We believe the theatre is a place where we all belong, that the theatre belongs to all of us.
In this spirit of inclusion, we are opening the competition to include middle school, high school and young adults. Each age group will respond to a different prompt and be judged separately. Please click below for entry details.
Entries will be accepted on rolling deadlines December 5, 2008, through April 10, 2009, and shown in the lobby of the New Mark Taper Forum throughout the 2009 season. Earlier entries will have a greater chance of being displayed prior to judging. Winners will be selected and honored in May 2009.
