Mike Daisey: The Last Cargo Cult
OVERVIEW
"The master storyteller—one of the finest solo performers of his generation.”
- New York Times
"A large man of unstoppable energy, he’s a fast, inventive, exceptionally funny storyteller with crisp comic timing and an amazingly flexible voice."
- San Francisco Chronicle
A work-in-progress presentation of Mike Daisey’s newest show about the true life unbelievable tale of a religion created by Pacific Islanders around abandoned WWII bases. Stories of belief and trust from this “cargo cult” are woven against questions about the international financial crisis. Daisey uses each culture to illuminate the other in an honest attempt to find, between the seemingly primitive and the achingly modern, a human answer. Be part of the process by attending the post show talkback discussion with the author.
