How To Reserve Your Group's Theatre Tickets

Whether you are an experienced group leader or organizing a group event for the first time, we want you to be successful. Call us if you have any questions. 213-972-7231. Here are a few ideas about reserving tickets and organizing your theatre party.

Choose your show date early! Check your calendar and choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices for dates that work for you and your group. We'll help give you options for best seating availability for your desired dates. Poll some members and see which date works best.

Place your reservation and consider reserving a few more tickets than you think you need. You may find a few more family members and friends who want to attend. Your reservation will be held up to 30 days with no obligation.

Your group will generally receive a 10% - 25% discount, and no per ticket handling fees. There is a $6.00 service charge per reservation due with payment. At the end of your reservation period a 10% deposit is due. We accept check or credit card payments.

Now it's time to get organized for a successful theatre party. One person can easily organize a group of about 15 to 20 people. Or ask a few people to work with you, especially if you have more than 20. Send out or e-mail “Save the Date” notices to everyone in your group and make sure they talk about it with their friends too. Set an RSVP date. Create a chart with each of your member's names, phone numbers with columns for payment amounts, due dates, and seat numbers. Call everyone just before the due date to make sure everyone pays on time.

Promote your show date. Start early. We will be happy to provide you with information about the show, which you can distribute to your members. Make a special flyer or invitations; send out e-mails or perhaps even create a newsletter as a way of generating interest and excitement. You can copy text, thumbnail graphics and pictures to use for your invitations and flyers off our web site. If it’s a musical, you may wish to purchase a CD of the original cast recording -- often available at our online store -- and pass it around. Check our web site for online music downloads. Sometimes we'll have short promotional videos of major musicals.

Theater Plus! You can make your theater event an extra special evening by arranging something as simple as meeting for drinks and snacks before the theater -- or a full sit down luncheon or dinner at Impresario on the top floor of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Patina, the Music Center's caterer, can also provide you with an elegant banquet.

Balance of Payments. Give your members a date when their payment is due to you. We recommend at least one-week before the actual payment is due to our office. Ask your members to call you if they are unable to get their money to you by their balance due date. We’ll do our best to work with you.

Pass Out the Tickets when you receive your tickets. Remember to record which ticket (seat location) you gave to each person and keep it in a safe place. Free ticket replacement for lost or stolen tickets is available if you know the exact seat location.

Click one of the following for more information about Directions to the Theatre, Nearby Restaurants, a map to the Music Center, or Seating Charts.

Enjoy the Show! Double check that all your members know the date, time and location of the event. Remind your members to factor travel and parking time into their day. If you have planned a dinner or other event, call and confirm those arrangements. Then sit back, and enjoy.
