“How do you finish the story when your co-writer is dead?” Staff Sergeant “Griff” Darrell Griffin, Jr. was writing a book about his two tours in Iraq as an Infantryman when he was killed in action. When urged by a reporter to finish the book his son had started, Darrell’s grief-stricken father asks himself that question and becomes convinced that the answer is to walk in his son’s footsteps — in Iraq. In this true story of the bond between a father and a son, we follow these uncommonly brave and devoted men as they strive to understand themselves, each other and the world around them.
