West Coast Premiere!
In 2006, Obie winners Danai Gurira and Robert O’Hara turned the Kirk Douglas into a global stage with In The Continuum. “If this one doesn’t put a lump in your throat, your heart isn’t beating,” said the Los Angeles Times.
Three years later, the team reunites to bring war-torn Liberia to the Douglas in a compelling
and exhilarating new work that explores the strength of women caught in the crossfire of war. Click here for an abridged timeline of Liberia's history.
The “wives” of a rebel commanding officer form an unlikely community in the hostile battle zone. Their world is transformed by the arrival of two newcomers and the return of a former “wife” turned rebel soldier. How does each woman survive during a vicious conflict fought primarily by boys and men? Eclipsed celebrates women who navigate the most brutal of circumstances.
