OVERVIEW
“Wonderfully evocative and often seriously funny, Kron sets off emotional vibrations that just won’t stop.”

The New York Times review of Lisa Kron in
Well
In her 2006 Broadway debut, Well, Lisa Kron turned the mother-daughter dynamic on its ear
by giving her mother equal time on stage to challenge her accounts.
In this brand new play, it’s Thanksgiving of 2000 and the presidential election still has not been decided. Ellen insists that her friends and family don’t understand how bad the situation really is. But no one can make Ellen see the blind spot at the center of her own politics and emotional life.
This searing new work unearths the assumptions of privilege and comfort that lie deep in the heart of the American character, and confronts the inescapable truth that no matter how hard you look, how open or self-reflective you think you are, you’ll never be able to see your own blind spot.
