OVERVIEW
Staged Musical Workshop.
The post office: endless lines, cranky clerks, cantankerous customers. But when a child mysteriously wanders off, customers and clerks alike must band together to ensure the kid is returned to sender.
This staged musical workshop features all-new music from Michael Friedman, the composer of the Kirk Douglas Theatre hits Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Post Office celebrates the power of community and collaboration in a world of largely digital relationships.
DouglasPlus, now in its second year and heralded by Los Angeles Times theatre critic Charles McNulty as “a refreshing extension of CTG’s artistic palette,” features readings, workshops and short-run events for an affordable price at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. Readings are often the first time playwrights hear their writing in front of an audience. Staged workshops give playwrights, directors and actors more rehearsal time together, and utilize minimal costumes, props and scenery. Special events and productions are more fully produced and may even take place in the lobby or other areas of the Douglas.
