Position Summary

Center Theatre Group seeks a development professional to join the company’s Institutional Advancement team as Director of Annual Giving, reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement. This position manages the successful operation of a robust individual annual fund/ membership program including solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship of donors up to the $2,500 level, while also providing operational support to the Individual Giving and Major Gifts officers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise Donor Stewardship & Communications Coordinator and Telefunding Manager.
  • Oversees the design, management, and execution of all acquisition, renewal, and benefits programs for individual donors who give up to $2,500 annually.
  • Oversees mass communications to Institutional Advancement constituents and manage audience segmentation strategy for all Institutional Advancement communications.
  • Works with the Director of Major and Planned Gifts, and the Advancement Operations staff to ensure that the donor pipeline for Center Theatre Group is robust, strategically integrated and well-coordinated.
  • Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to our equity, diversity, inclusion, and access initiatives and an ongoing commitment to an anti-racist culture at CTG.
  • Creatively collaborates with colleagues to integrate direct mail, email, website, social media, telefunding, and uses ongoing results analytics to fine-tune renewal and appeal strategies.
  • Prepares and monitors the Annual Giving Income and Expense Budget.
  • Manages the Center Theatre Group Affiliates, a membership group of CTG supporters and volunteers.
  • Ensures a robust telefunding effort by providing leadership to the Tele-funding Manager to ensure that an efficient and effective campaign achieves maximum fundraising results.

Other Responsibilities

  • Act as primary liaison to Printer and Mail House  
  • Act as primary liaison to CTG Communications/Marketing/Graphics teams
  • Be/become I.A. team Tessitura super user  


  • Seven or more years of fundraising experience, with a proven track record in growing annual fund and/or membership giving.
  • Advanced knowledge of CRM database systems in a performing arts non-profit (Tessitura preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience managing projects from inception to successful and timely completion.
  • Previous successful supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to sit, type and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate through incoming and outgoing phone calls.
  • Willingness and ability to work 40 hours per week. Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
