We’re thrilled to congratulate renowned director/choreographer Sir Matthew Bourne, who was knighted for services to dance by the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace on May 20, 2016.

“We are so happy for Matthew on his well-deserved investiture,” said Center Theatre Group Producing Director Douglas C. Baker. “Center Theatre Group is extremely proud to be the first company to present the work of Matthew Bourne in America.”

Center Theatre Group’s relationship with Bourne began in 1997, when his interpretation of Swan Lake had its U.S. premiere at the Ahmanson Theatre before moving to Broadway. Center Theatre Group and the Ahmanson have also played host to many of Bourne’s signature works including Cinderella (1999), The Car Man (2001), Play Without Words (2005), Edward Scissorhands (2006), and most recently, Sleeping Beauty (2013).

“We are looking forward to future projects with Sir Matthew!” said Baker.
