Created in 2009 to introduce our audiences to more non-traditional work and to involve them in our commissions’ development process, DouglasPlus offers a glimpse of how Center Theatre Group supports artists and where theatre is going next. DouglasPlus: In Development events present works in various stages of development from readings to full productions. Playwrights who have used DouglasPlus: In Development events to develop new works include Dael Orlandersmith and Lucy Alibar.

DouglasPlus: Conversations events feature playwrights offering a window into works-in-progress and discussing the issues their plays explore. Past DouglasPlus Conversations include Jennifer Haley (The Nether) discussing virtual reality with game designer and author Jane McGonigal and Sheila Callaghan (Bed) discussing women, power, intimacy, and ambition with UC Riverside Professor of Theatre Tiffany Ana López.
