Center Theatre Group continually experiments with new ways to start conversations among theatregoers before and after the show through events, lobby engagement activities, and digital content.

Audience & Stage Talks

Audience Talks and Stage Talks offer an opportunity for the community gathered in the theatre to come together after the performance and get to the heart of the experience they just shared. We host Audience Talks and Stage Talks, led by trained facilitators or members of our Artistic staff, after select performances inside the Ahmanson Theatre and Mark Taper Forum and after most performances inside the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

Audience Talks

Widen the post-show conversation and discuss what the art onstage means to us as individuals and as a society. Audience Talks are a unique way to connect with your fellow theatregoers and continue to digest the show.

Stage Talks

Go behind the scenes with cast members and/or creators for Q&A sessions that give the audience a chance to discover more about the creative process.

Artist Series

Go behind-the-curtain before the performance! Join us for an exclusive, up-close conversation with Mark Taper Forum artists and artisans—from playwrights and directors to designers and production crew members—to explore the inspiration and craft that gets the art onstage. Before the second Saturday matinee performance of every Taper show, our Artist Series includes a talk and an audience question-and-answer session that create the perfect theatrical experience for curious and passionate audiences.

Engagement Activities

Head into the lobby at the Kirk Douglas Theatre and arrive at The Music Center Plaza before showtime to participate in activities and games designed to get the audience thinking about the themes and ideas of the show and to interact with our Concierge staff.

Digital Deep Dives

Before and after the show, we invite you to visit our blogs to explore more, listen to podcasts featuring interviews with the creative team and/or subject matter experts, watch video interviews and other content on our YouTube channel, and engage with our social media channels @CTGLA.
