Do you want to see live theatre, talk about it with other teens, and learn more about your own taste in art? Teen Theatregoers lets you choose the shows you want to see at Center Theatre Group (all for free!), and gets you in the room with theatre professionals who will help you learn how to think, talk, and experience live theatre like a pro.

Program runs November 2018 – May 2019

Participation is free and students will receive two tickets, one for themselves and one ticket for a guest, for select performances.

Program Information


Arts-interested high school students ages 13–18 who reside in Los Angeles County are eligible to apply. We’re looking for teens who want to see and discuss live theatre with one another. No theatre experience is required!

Location & Transportation

Meetings take place at the Center Theatre Group offices located in The Music Center Annex, 601 W Temple St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, and performances take place the Ahmanson Theatre and Mark Taper Forum, both located at 135 N Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

Teen Theatregoers Are Required to Attend:

Participants are required to attend four complimentary performances during the course of the program. The entire group will see Dear Evan Hansen together, and participants will see three more performances of their choice on dates of their choice (subject to availability) at the Ahmanson and/or Taper from November 2018 – May 2019.

Participants are required to attend the following meetings:

  1. Opening Discussion, Lunch, and Performance of Dear Evan Hansen: Sunday, Nov 18, 2018, 11am & 4pm (includes performance time).
  2. Mid-Point Discussion and Dinner: Thursday, Feb 21, 2019, 4:30–6pm (no performance).
  3. Closing Discussion and Dinner: Tuesday, May 21, 2019, 4:30–6pm (no performance).
  4. Students will receive one ticket for Dear Evan Hansen for November 18, 2018, plus two tickets for three additional performances for themselves and a guest of any age. The total time commitment is approximately 15 hours—most of it as an audience member!
