Theatre Crash Course for Students

Interested in costume design, acting, directing, or scenic and lighting design?

Come to the Center Theatre Group Theatre Crash Course to try something new or hone your skills! This FREE workshop series is for all high school students, whether you're curious about theatre or already in love with the art form.

On three Wednesday evenings in March, come together with other teens and professional artists to dive into the new play Archduke by Rajiv Joseph. Archduke explores the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and poetically traces a group of young men along their unlikely path to terrorism at the onset of World War I.

Actors and directors will investigate scenes from the play, and costume, lighting, and scenic designers will get hands-on to develop design concepts. On the last day, we’ll throw it all together, invite our friends, pitch our designs, and see what we’ve got! This is the fastest way to learn what it takes to put on a professional show from start to finish. No experience is necessary to participate.
