Venues Around L.A.

A Wake

Center Theatre Group partners with local artists, theatre companies, and libraries to present English and Spanish play readings every month.

A young man tries to come to terms with death at his grandmother’s viewing. Amidst friends and family, he grapples with what it means when someone you love leaves this world behind—and with the fact that he, too, will do the same one day in this new, alternately funny and heartbreaking play by Pico Rivera playwright Manuel Marron. Presented in English, A Wake is a Center Theatre Group commission.

As always, play readings are free, open to the public, and designed to be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.
