Jump-start your theatre career this summer from anywhere with an Internet connection at Center Theatre Group's free, virtual professional development series. Designed for current college and university students studying theatre but open to all, the Working in Theatre Summer Series is a 10-week course focused on the skills and knowledge emerging professionals need to build a career in live theatre.

Lindsay A. Jenkins, Serena Johnson, and Elena Muslar join us for our final session of the Working In Theatre Summer Series to disclose all their tips and tricks about following your career path, wherever that may take you. They bust myths about linear career paths, teach you how to identify and take advantage of your skills, and describe when and how to make a change in your career.

Panelists:

Lindsay A. Jenkins (L.J.) is a dramaturg, producer, educator, and writer based in Los Angeles by way of Dallas, TX. Like many theatre practitioners, L.J. has performed a variety of roles over the years; however she considers her time as a Middle and High school theatre teacher as one of her most valuable experiences. She is also the founder and Executive Creative Producer of Maroon Arts and Culture, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowerment through arts education and cultural programming. Maroon Arts & Culture will be partnering with Center Theatre Group on the fall Working in Theatre series.

Serena Johnson is the founder and CEO of Get Me Out of This Job, a career coaching company that creates a feminist, diverse, and egalitarian springboard for all who find themselves facing the too familiar problem of “I need to leave this job, but I have NO idea what to do next.” She also sits on the Advisory Board for Emerging Arts Leaders in Los Angeles.

Elena Muslar is a Career & Mindset Coach for changemakers and trailblazers at the individual and organizational levels. She has educated and empowered thousands of clients leading the charge in arts, entertainment, cultural, and creative industries. She currently serves as the Associate Director for Creative Professions and Strategic Initiatives at Loyola Marymount University.
