The Ahmanson Theatre, located at The Music Center, is where we showcase the plays and musicals that everyone has been talking about or will be talking about. It’s where we produce and present pre-Broadway runs as well as the best of Broadway and the West End, turning a night at the theatre into a true event.
The Mark Taper Forum, located at The Music Center, is where we think about how art sheds a light on society. It’s where we produce plays—whether they’re world premieres, second productions, or the remounting of important works—that provoke conversations.
The Kirk Douglas Theatre, located in Downtown Culver City, is our home for adventurous new work. It’s where we do the most world premieres, play with conventions, and take risks, fueling an all-encompassing experience.
Center Theatre Group’s administrative offices are located in Downtown L.A. at The Music Center Annex, directly across W Temple St from the Ahmanson Theatre.
Since 2005, our costume and props departments have been headquartered in our 9,945 square-foot shop just four miles from The Music Center. The Shop also serves as a hub for Boyle Heights programming, creating opportunities for local residents to express their creativity, build community, and learn more about theatre.
Center Theatre Group partners with local libraries, arts organizations, and community organizations to offer programming at sites around Boyle Heights and throughout Los Angeles. Local libraries host readings of new plays in English and Spanish and also display costumes from past Center Theatre Group productions, while community spaces have hosted workshops and other performances.
