CTG Student Ambassador Program

Gain experience, make new friends and share your love of the arts! The Center Theatre Group Student Ambassador Program is a free program for Los Angeles County high school students who are curious about the arts and want to build leadership and teamwork skills.

No arts, theatre or leadership experience is required!

Try something new, work on a team, and lead your own projects. As a Student Ambassador, you will:

  • Gain leadership skills and work experience
  • Make new friends and professional mentors
  • Learn more about careers and the arts
  • Have fun and get special perks, like free theatre tickets—and a $500 stipend upon completion of the program!

The 2015-2016 CTG Student Ambassador Program application period has ended.

Applications for next year’s program will be available in August 2016.

This year’s Student Ambassadors are working on these four teams:

  1. Arts Education Team: Teaching Theatre

Have you thought about becoming a teacher? Interested in theatre, either as a total beginner or someone who’s a bit more experienced? This year, we’re putting our Theatre 101 Workshop Series in the hands of this team. You’ll develop the workshops, select teaching artists, and help to lead the sessions.

  2. Arts Advocacy Team: Making an Impact

Are you interested in making a positive impact on your community? Passionate about the importance of the arts? Develop and plan an Arts Summit event that brings together teens from across Los Angeles to discuss big issues and figure out solutions to help all students have access to the arts.

  3. Community Engagement Team: Peer Outreach

Do you like making people feel welcome and creating fun, inclusive events? This team will focus on making CTG a welcoming place for other teens by designing special events and reaching out to schools, organizations and students to attend.

  4. Young Artists Recognition Team: Creating LA Teen Theatre Awards

Do you feel like talented young artists in Los Angeles should be celebrated? CTG wants to create a way to recognize LA’s teen theatre artists, and we need your help. Taking inspiration from everything from the Academy Awards to Project Runway to the Forbes Magazine “30 Under 30” list, this team will develop a model for an LA teen theatre award program, to be launched by CTG in 2017. Design a program that will celebrate your peers for their talent and hard work!
