A Christmas Carol
UPDATED DECEMBER 21
ALL PERFORMANCES OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL CANCELLED
Last week Center Theatre Group announced the cancellation of A Christmas Carol from December 16 through 26, when, despite robust safety measures in place, COVID-19 cases were detected within the Los Angeles company. Due to the uncertainty of our ability to continue with performances, and out of concern for the wellbeing of the cast, crew, and audiences, the rest of the engagement of A Christmas Carol at the Ahmanson Theatre is now cancelled. All ticketholders for cancelled performances will receive refunds or credits at the original point of purchase.
We hope to welcome you back to the Ahmanson Theatre in the new year. Until then, please continue to stay safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
If you would like to contact our Audience Services department, you may call 213.628.2772 or email tickets@ctgla.org and we will respond as quickly as possible.

WINNER OF 5 TONY AWARDS
THE MOST AWARDED PLAY OF THE SEASON
Two visionary Tony Award® winners—playwright Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), director Matthew Warchus (Matilda)—offer a magical new interpretation of Charles Dickens’ timeless story starring three-time Emmy® winner Bradley Whitford (The Handmaid’s Tale, The West Wing, Get Out, The Post) as Ebenezer Scrooge; Tony and Emmy Award nominee Kate Burton as Ghost of Christmas Past; and Grammy®, SAG Award, Critics Choice, and Hollywood Critics Association Award nominee Alex Newell as Ghost of Christmas Present/Mrs. Fezziwig.
Winner of five Tony Awards, and the most awarded play of the season, this New York Times Critics' Pick welcomes theatregoers of all ages into an immersive experience that is brimming with Christmas spirit. Featuring dazzling staging, moving storytelling, and 12 cherished Christmas carols, including “Joy to the World,” “Silent Night,” and “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear,” it is “so infectious you’ll leave the theatre with a heart full of joy and light” (Entertainment Weekly).
(L-R) Kate Burton, Bradley Whitford, and Alex Newell.
An enchanting spectacle designed to enrapture all ages with a sense of childlike wonder and delight.
Critics' Pick!
While retaining the jolliness and sentimentality associated with A Christmas Carol, Thorne and Warchus have polished the story's social conscience to a restored brightness.
