Our ACCESS program is committed to accessibility for all audiences. We offer a number of services to accommodate persons requiring mobility, vision, and hearing access.

One Saturday matinee for every mainstage Center Theatre Group production is designated as an ACCESS performance. These performances are designed for patrons who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, and/or have low vision. ACCESS performances at the Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and Kirk Douglas Theatre all offer American Sign Language interpretation and Audio Description. In addition, we are proud to offer Open Captioned performances at the Ahmanson Theatre thanks to a generous, anonymous Artistic Director's Circle gift.

This program began in 1980 in association with the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Children of a Lesser God as Project D.A.T.E. (Deaf Access Theatrical Experience).

Mobility

Wheelchair Seating

Contact Audience Services at 213.628.2772 to arrange for accommodations for persons in wheelchairs or persons with disabilities and their attendants or companions. If your wheelchair status changes after you have purchased your ticket, please contact Audience Services in advance of the show. Please try to arrive early if you need help with access. Patrons who need to use the platform lift at the Taper should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to curtain. Latecomers will be handled on an individual basis.

Seat Locations

At the Ahmanson, areas for patrons in wheelchairs are available on all levels. At the Taper, wheelchair seating is accessible by means of a platform lift. Aisle seats may also be requested. At the Douglas, seating is accessible in both the main floor and gallery sections.

Restrooms

Fully accessible restrooms are located on each level of the Ahmanson, in the main lobby of the Taper, and in the main lobby of the Douglas. (To help ease lines during intermission, The Music Center Plaza has additional bathroom accommodations on the Hope Street side of the Plaza next to the Taper.)
