The Broadway revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, co-produced by Center Theatre Group, underwent a magical transformation of its own this week when Rebecca Luker took over the role of Marie, the Fairy Godmother. The Tallest Tree in the Forest, written and performed by Daniel Beaty, opened at Kansas City Repertory Theatre this week. The play, which chronicles Paul Robeson's remarkable life, heads to the Mark Taper Forum in April 2014. In his review of the world-premiere production, Frank Siraguso says Beaty's "portrayal of Paul Robeson comes at a time when such a voice is more important than ever."
