Jump-start your theatre career this summer from anywhere with an Internet connection at Center Theatre Group's free, virtual professional development series. Designed for current college and university students studying theatre but open to all, the Working in Theatre Summer Series is a 10-week course focused on the skills and knowledge emerging professionals need to build a career in live theatre.

In this session, panelists Leslie Ishii and Jonathan Muñoz-Proulx discuss their journey to becoming artistic leaders in their respective communities, and sharing their tips and tricks on how to get there. Learn how to train yourself to become the best artist you can be, take ownership of your artistic career, and the opportunities and resources that can help support your career path.

Panelists:

Leslie Ishii is the current Artistic Director of Perseverance Theatre, as well as a director and an actor. She is also core faculty of ArtEquity, an equity, diversity, and inclusion training and consulting service for arts and culture organizations around the nation, and has been working and engaging with education and community programs and advocating for equity in the arts and culture landscape throughout her career.

Jonathan Muñoz-Proulx is an Ovation Award-nominated director and is Director of Cultural Programming at A Noise Within. He serves on the Latinx Theatre Commons National Advisory Committee, is a member of the LA STAGE Alliance Ovation Rules Committee, and is a nominator for The Kilroy List. He is the current Edgerton guest artist in residence at Occidental College.
