The Second City's
A Christmas Carol
Twist Your Dickens!
A Christmas Carol
The entire recent tradition of American satire can be summed up in three words: The Second City.
With its trademark humor, irreverence, and originality, The Second City is giving the classic Charles Dickens Christmas tale a hearty twist.
God Bless Help Us, Every One!
Dickens' famous Victorian streets spring to life as Scrooge, Tiny Tim, that fat, plucked goose, and those know-it-all ghosts find themselves hopelessly mixed up with anachronistic characters, hilarious improv, and an ever-changing stable of starry, drop-in special guests. A recipe chock full of holiday hilarity!
A stage full of goofballs...In its twisted way the show spreads just the right amount of holiday cheer. The Second City's 'A Christmas Carol' was created by two of my writers! This Dickens jerk better have a good lawyer.
The Second City scoured their address book to assemble a gaggle of luminary alumni to create this World premiere. Writers Peter Gwinn (formerly of The Colbert Report) and Bobby Mort (currently of The Colbert Report) join director Marc Warzecha (Resident Director, The Second City) and a cast which features Frank Caeti (MADtv), Larry Joe Campbell (According to Jim), Dan Castellaneta (The Simpsons), Amanda Blake Davis (Second City Does Dallas at the Dallas Theatre Center), Brian Stepanek (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody), Jean Villepique (Up All Night), and Ron West (3rd Rock From the Sun).
The Second City, the legendary comedy theatre that specializes in sketch comedy and improvisation, has delighted audiences for over 50 years. Famous alumni include: Mike Myers, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, John Candy, John Belushi, Catherine O'Hara, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, and more.
