Around a campfire in the woods, after the kids have gone to sleep, 5 summer camp counselors drink beer, tell ghost stories, and grapple with their new responsibilities. But when a national emergency breaks out in the “real world,” the counselors face a conundrum: Should they tell the kids? Are they prepared for what comes next? Can the idyllic possibilities of summer camp even work in the real world? Presented in an intimate setting around a real campfire, The Grown-Ups looks at issues of national heritage, civic duty, and privilege through a darkly comedic, life-affirming lens.
